Stammtisch is a class lead discussion for AP or upper level German students. The basic idea is that students work with a discussion question – usually something controversial – and prepare to lead a class discussion on that topic.
Students will be working with partners as they prepare their topic – one student represents one side of the argument, and the other represents the opposite viewpoint (usually pro vs contra).
This is a great way for students to practice expressing their opinion, building arguments, and impromptu speaking - all important skills for the AP Exam!

Although this is something I primarily do with my AP students, I introduce it during 4th Quarter with my German 3 students.
