Standard Form and Vertex Form of Quadratic Equations Dominoes - PP was created for use in an Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 classroom during the Quadratic Equations Unit. On one end of the domino, there is a quadratic equation in standard form, and on the other end of the domino, there is a quadratic equation in vertex form. Students can convert standard form to vertex form or vice versa. Students link the two forms together and create a chain of dominoes.
Students take the set of dominoes and match up the quadratic standard form with its vertex form. After all the dominoes are linked together, students can check their work with the answer key by quickly checking the letters in the middle of the domino. Students can start with any domino and the link should lead all the way back around to the original using all the dominoes. This works much like a scavenger hunt or an I have, Who has activity.
The dominoes can have a back printed on them to keep them separated from other activities if so desired. Card stock and lamination make the cards last for several years. Dominoes can also be printed on different colored cards for the different sets to help keep them organized and separated.
For larger dominoes, print the document using a poster printer.
