Have you ever asked yourself, how am I going to start my students day on the mornings of standardized testing? In my classroom, I like to give a creative morning work on each morning of our standardized tests!! These eight scribble pages (for up to 8 days of testing) allow the students to create a picture from a basic shape or line that has been drawn for them. This helps to stimulate their thinking and helps the students relax before they are tested.
Print a copy of the scribbles for each of your students and allow them to complete it during morning work time. Have them use colors to further stimulate their thinking!
Before we get our desks ready for testing, I have the students put their drawings away in their desk. When testing is completed I allow students, who want to, share what they created from the basic shape or line. It is amazing what they can come up with and how the pictures improve day to day!!
