Description
After listening to students complain about standardized testing, I realized I could channel their frustrations into a real world writing activity. This activity gives students the chance to complain and get out their frustrations with the process. No one enjoys standardized testing, so this allows them a voice. Includes instructions, sample complaint letter, and rubric.
This activity can serve as a way to let students express their frustrations while still working on real-world written communication skills. Students are required to use polite language to express their complaint. Can also work as filler for days not used for testing.
Be aware of school climate or student needs before assigning. This activity may not be appropriate for some students or classrooms.
Contents:
Student instruction sheet with rubric
Sample Complaint Letter
This item is a single file PDF.
