This is a FUN powerpoint reminding kids how to take Standardized Tests.
My kids actually BEG to see this powerpoint. Very engaging and funny. Plus, I can remind kids during the test "not to be a fast gazelle and be the lions lunch."
There are videos embedded into this powerpoint. For example, one slide says to follow the directions of the prompt. So there is a video of a dog playing Simon Says. The title to the slide says that if a dog can follow the rules, so must you. There's another slide about reading each answer carefully. There's a video of cats hearing a meow sound and assuming it's coming from the top of the cat bed. The cats dig around on the top of the bed, and then finally look at the bottom. This helps the kids remember to look at all choices, even the BOTTOM one before choosing an answer. There's another slide about writing to a prompt and how to use punctuation. There's a video of a fast gazelle that's running through the land and ends up being the lion's lunch because he hits a tree (don't do your test too quickly).
This powepoint does have a lot of writing reminders, so if your kids take a multiple choice standardized test this may not be the best powerpoint. When I made this powerpoint, my kids took a test that is similar to the ACT Aspire test, which is a mixture of M/C and writing.
TO PLAY THE VIDEOS, YOU MUST CLICK ON THE VIDEO IN SLIDESHOW MODE. THE PICTURE OF THE DOGS IN A TRUCK (GRUMPY ATTITUDE DOGS) IS NOT A VIDEO--JUST A PICTURE.
