This file was created in response to a request. The excel spreadsheet I created is a way to organize your classroom activities based upon the common core standard they are associated with. The first tab has instructions. The next tab has a place to list the activity and then type yes or no if the activity matches the standard (much like the beginning of workbooks where they show the each activity and to which standard it applies). The next tab is an actual grade book template where you can enter your students names and then their grade on each activity. The spreadsheet calculates a running average for each student (with each activity weighing the same). It also calculates a class average for each activity so you can see if students mastered an activity or not with color coding red for any average below 70%. The entire workbook has circular hyperlinks. The page where you check off standards links back to the actual standard for reference. The grade book can link an activity back to the page where you entered standards for easy review.
All activities are able to be filtered by standard by clicking the drop down arrow next to the standard number. You can then filter activities based upon certain standards.
The sample file only contains the directions, reading standards check off, reading grade book, and standards file. The whole file contains reading (literature and informational), language, writing, listening and speaking, and math standards.
Please let me know if this excel file is usable or not. I have not used it, but just created based upon a need. I hope to create grades 1-5 soon. Also, any suggestions on additions or what would be helpful to others are welcome.
