Many school districts are now moving to a Standards-Based Grading system which uses letters instead of traditional numerical grades. These literacy and math rubrics are aligned to the Common Core standards and are attached to a student's work before it is turned in for grading. The teacher scores the work using this rubric which is then sent home weekly for parent review.
This form uses the following letters to show student performance:
E = Exceeds
M = Meets
P = Progressing
L = Limited
These letters can easily be changed to reflect your own Measures of Progress as well as your own standards. There are 2 tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet; "Literacy" takes you to the literacy rubric and "Math" takes you to the math rubrics. Print the page oriented to Landscape with top and bottom margins measuring 0.25 and left and right margins measuring 0.2. Eight rubrics appear on one page; cut apart after printing to affix to student work.
