(12 pages) Students practice locating stars using Right Ascension & Declination (astronomical longitude & latitude). There are two separate variations included. In the first, students are given star data and use it to plot star locations on a grid of the northern sky. In another variation, students use a sky grid already marked with stars, and use it to determine the RA and Dec of the stars shown. This is a fun hands-on activity that introduces students not only to the way in which stars are located, but also introduces them to some of the important stars and Messier Objects seen in the northern sky.
