This is the format that I use to create our star student book. Each child will draw a picture of the star student of the day. Be sure to print enough of the star student pages so each student can draw a picture. I use this to teach drawing a face with eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, real colors, and labeling. The children trace their friend's name and then practice writing their own name on the dotted lines. I use paper with a decorated border from our local teacher store to print the cover and back cover. I put their photo (printed from my iPad to the photo lab at a local drug store) I then laminate and make into a book for the students to take home and have as a keepsake. It's a great way to incorporate a getting to know you activity, build classroom community, and practice standards.
