This is a letter and information about having a Star Student of the Week in a classroom. The first page is a colorful title page that I adhere to a sturdy folder. This folder goes home with the next week's Star Student. I usually send it home at least one week before so that the parents and child have time to prepare for the special week.
The second page is a letter to the students congratulating him or her on becoming the next Star Student, and the next page details what each day of their special week entails. The last page has two "clue cards" for the child to fill out for the show-and-tell portion on Thursday. This is great writing practice, especially using adjectives, since the Star Student must give clues to the class as to what he or she has brought in. These three pages, as well as a large "Read All About Me" poster that I purchase separately, goes into the Star Student folder each week.
My students greatly enjoy being the center of attention for a week and I always get to know my students better this way. My store name is Fun First Grade. Thanks for checking this out!
