I used this novel as a read aloud with my 8th grade students. Here are 2 activities we did that went with the book!
1) Norm-breaking assignment: Stargirl is nonconforming. Here's your students' chance to intentionally break some norms to see what it feels like. They'll fill out the reflection included to get credit for their courage. Very specific instructions for the assignment are included.
2) Sneetches: We watch the Dr. Seuss "Sneetches" video (12 minutes) because it makes for a great text set. Here is a simple, 3 question worksheet to help students connect this story with Stargirl.
