The first PowerPoint presentation includes a brief description of what stars are, different types of stars, and how light travels. Then it goes into detail about a few constellations. (Ursa Major, Orion, and Scorpius).
The next PowerPoint is only about constellations and the mythology behind them. There is some overlap between the two presentations, so the constellations presentation should have a bit of review for your students. The constellations presented are
Ursa Major and Minor
Each constellation is presented with the story, a picture that overlays the constellation, and when it is best to see the constellation. There is also a short guide of how to use Orion to find several of the other constellations as well as mention of the North Star and how Sirius Black from Harry Potter gets his name from the brightest star in Canis Major.
