Product Description
This in an activity that requires students to use the STAR CHART OF THE NORTHERN SKY, an activity available for sale created by Michael F. Ryan. The purpose of the activity is to illustrate how some constellations are considered to be circumpolar (circle the pole star, Polaris). Which constellations never rise or set below the horizon will become evident when students adjust their star wheel for different latitudes in the continental US. Because the flag for the State of Alaska contains Polaris in its design, students are challenged to find out what other state flags have included this star.
