This activity is used in conjunction with the STAR CHART FOR THE NORTHERN SKY that students assembled. That chart is available for purchase from Michael F. Ryan. 2000 years ago the ancient Greeks looked up at the sky and decided to split up the star field into groups we call constellation. On the fall sky there are five groups that are featured in a famous legend called the Andromeda Legend. Students are asked to rotate the star wheel so that a latter date in October lines up with the time of 8 p.m. The activity ask for an internet search to learn the legend. Then students color four pages of Mike Ryan's original artwork related to the story as coloring pages.
