This 49 page state report unit is an organized way to help you guide your students to create meaningful, well researched reports. The unit includes editable students directions, writing pages, an editable rubric, a student example, and more!
Included in this unit are:
A Completed State Report Student Example
A List of States (I pull sticks and let the kids choose. This is my checklist.)
Student Directions Handout (Editable 3 pages)
Research Notes (5 pages)
Bibliography Rough Draft
State Flag Page
State Seal Page
Bibliography Final Copy Page
Rubric (I included this in a PDF as well as an editable Word document so you can tweak it as needed)
Teacher Notes (2 pages)
The Teacher Notes pages are loaded with detailed descriptions and step by step processes to help guide you through this unit. I have taught it many times over the years and this organization keeps things moving very smoothly.
I love teaching State Reports as it’s really fun and is a great way to get your students to practice the research process and to write well crafted reports. I love to see how interested the kids become in their states and how much they love to find interesting (sometimes even weird) bits of facts and trivia about them
Everything you need to do this project is here, except the books and computers the students will use to find the state information. I think it is really well laid out and organized and with detailed teacher notes, it will be a breeze to figure this one out.
I hope you love this project as much as I do!
