52 pages of vocabulary words and concepts taken straight from the state standards for each individual grade level (kindergarten through fifth grade).
Word walls are so important. Not only do they help students retain the information but they spark interest. You'll be surprised at how many questions the students have about the pronunciations and meanings.
Don't have the time or room to post all of these words? There are a number of other ways in which they can be used. Make a bulletin board with the title, "Today in music we..." and have students find the concept in the pile. Have them pin/velcro/staple as a recap for the day or unit.
Still not satisfied? Use some of them in class as part of your lesson! 5th grade has all the tempo vocabulary. Put them in groups or make enough copies for each student to have their own. All students start on a horizontal line. Play a clip of music and have the students hold up the card that matches! First correct answer takes a step forward. Goal is to get to the other side! Great for assessment too!
