States and Capitals
“States and Capitals” is a set of task cards designed to help students memorize the capital cities of all 50 states in America. The front side of the card displays the name of the state, its alphabetical rank (i.e., Alabama is #1), postal abbreviation, and the state’s flag. The back side of the card displays the name of the capital city and shows a map of the state with the capital city marked on the map. Students not only practice memorizing their states and capitals, they can also practice identifying state flags, state shapes, and postal abbreviations. The pages are laid out so that they can be printed back-to-back. If aligned properly, the answer should appear on the reverse side. Test your printer’s settings before printing the entire set.
