States and Capitals Task Cards
Description
Make memorizing states and capitals a little more fun and engaging with States and Capitals Task Cards with QR Codes. This product can be used in lots of different ways including practicing by region, pre-assessment or even assessment. Students use a US map to practice locating the states and then use QR codes to check their answers. Students can use the individual task cards to practice the capital for each state.
Included in this product:
- State Identification (map with separate QR codes) for all 50 states
- State Identification (map with separate QR codes) by region
- Capital task cards (ex. What is the capital of Michigan?) with QR codes for all 50 states
- Capital task cards with QR codes for each region
- Student recording sheets

A Note about QR Codes:
While there are QR codes on the task cards to allow the students to self check with technology, there are also traditional answer keys included in case you don't have the technology to use QR codes in the classroom.
A Note About Regions:
The United States can be divided into many different regions. This product has them divided into 5 regions (Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, Southwest and West) but also includes a section for all 50 states and capitals that aren’t broken down into regions.
Southeast: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
Northeast: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont
Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin
