Product Description
Explore matter with kindergarten, first, or second graders. There are 4 activities in all. The first 3 can be done as whole class activities or set up as stations. The last activity is a challenge for students to use what they have learned about solids, liquids, and gases to guess what is inside a clay ball.
The goal is for students to understand that matter is everywhere. They will work on creating observations to help understand the 3 states of matter. Through observations students will learn that the 3 states of matter behave differently, but all take up space and have mass. Plastic eggs will be used to help students understand that liquids flow and solids do not. Students will learn to do fair tests to discover the state of matter inside a plastic egg. Students will enjoy exploring and discovering what is in their clay ball. Teachers will like the easily accessible supplies and step by step instructions. These are great activities to add to a teachers matter unit.
