This set is a great introduction to any States of Matter Unit. Included you will get 3 days worth of science!
Activity 1: Can be used as a Pre-Assessment or just pass out and listen to the debates. This activity contains real life images of matter and non matter. It is pretty cool to listen to debates and ideas as students work in groups to complete the checklist. I have included a teacher explanation for this sheet.
Activity 2: Students will describe the physical properties of matter they observe in the real life images. Students will be able to explain what a physical property means.
Activity 3: Students will see real calculations of a person's weight and mass at sea level, on Mount Everest, on the Moon, and on Mars. Students will conclude that weight changes according to gravitational pull, but mass always stays the same.
