Students will demonstrate their understanding of the three states of matter using one of the two projects included in this lesson. Each project aligns with NGSS standard PS 5-1-1. One project gives students a choice in which of the five they would like to complete while the other has students answering review questions about solid, liquid, and gas substances before completing three hands on activities to show their level of understanding through CER ( claim, evidence, reasoning ) responses of how particles behave in different phases of matter.
