Have a great science unit on Solids, Liquids, and Gases planned but need something fun to see if the kiddos are “getting” it? Give them this sorting activity where they can draw or cut out pictures to show their knowledge of solids, liquids, and gases.

This is one activity out of the States of Matter Assessment packet that my kiddos LOVE to do!

•3.P.2.3 Summarize changes that occur to the observable properties of materials when different degrees of heat are applied to them, such as melting ice or ice cream, boiling water or an egg, or freezing water.
