Product Description
**New Edition** Put the interactive in your interactive notebooks with a moving wheel model for the four phases of matter (solid, liquid, gas and plasma). If you own the original phases of matter spinner wheel, you’re not even going to recognize this new edition! Improvements include simplifying the instructions, reducing the use of paper, improving the layout, resizing the model to fit in interactive notebooks, revisions to the differentiated versions and improvements in the graphic design. It's also available in my money-saving Layers of the Earth and States of Matter Pair Pack!

This product is part of a money-saving bundle: Chemistry Unit Bundle. It contains eleven resources to teach all of the concepts typically taught in an introductory chemistry unit. Save yourself some time and trouble by taking a look at the bundle instead of searching for individual activities/lessons!

More About This Resource

The model can be differentiated many ways depending on your needs and those of your students, from providing significant scaffolding, to providing very little. You can give or withdraw the support of pre-printed labels, preprinted images, and placement assistance for the pictures and labels.

The redesigned model fits easily into interactive notebooks. It can be used in place of taking notes during a lecture, or could be used for a homework assignment (because it only requires scissors, a paper fastener, and transparent tape.) It could be the assigned product for student research on the states of matter. It would be especially useful as a replacement for a textbook-based worksheet and is FAR more engaging for students! It would be a great review activity to leave for a substitute!

Kids can’t resist playing with things that move. The more they play with this model, the more they are reviewing the critical content of your unit with the added memory benefit of visuals tied to the definitions. Give them a chance to individualize their wheel by providing colored pencils or crayons. When students get a chance to put their own artistic style on their work, they value it more and treat it with more respect than they will ever give to a worksheet or the same old boring graphic organizer. They’re going to love this, and you’re going to love having a low prep fun activity for reinforcing the four states of matter!

Materials Needed:
Printed copies of the template and labels for each student
Transparent Tape
Colored Pencils or Crayons (optional)
