A study of static electricity wouldn't be complete without building a Leyden Jar. This historical piece of science equipment was developed in the 18th century and became a precursor to the battery. If you're planning to study circuits, this is a great activity to bridge your student's understanding between static and circuit electricity.
Learn to use scientific equipment:
Leyden Jar, electrostatic charging rods
Leyden jar, charging rod, charging fabric
Assemble the Leyden jars (these can be reused for years)
