This complete Station Kit is designed to create 12 analysis stations using file folders for the following 13 Literary Devices: Simile, Metaphor, Hyperbole, Personification, Symbol Motif, and Allusion, in addition to Fiction Signposts from the text, "Notice and Note: Strategies for Close Reading," by Kylene Beers and Robert E. Probst. These include analysis for Aha Moments, Again and Again, Contrast and Contradictions, Memory Moments, Tough Questions, and Words of the Wiser. The last page of the Station Kit is a Group Station Challenge Record which allows students to challenge answers recorded by other groups and request a counter-argument debate for Enrichment points. This kit includes 3 pages for each station: A cover visual in column format for visual learners with analysis questions, an Interior Student Analysis Question walk-through for recording connections and analyses, and the Group Challenge Station Log for counter-debate. This is a lifelong, multi-use Station Kit for analyzing literary devices and will meet CCSS learning targets for Reading Readiness, Speaking and Listening standards, and Reading Literature for grades 6-10, and Home school students.
