Ever wanted an easy way to get your kids to INDEPENDENTLY go to their assigned area?
Tired of hearing “where do I go?” constantly during stations?
Do you miss a lot of small group time because of having to redirect students/keep them away from your table?
Want a way to differentiate your stations, groups, and whole classroom to get those extra points on YOUR evaluation?
What about a boost in CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT?
This easy 5 day rotation system is the key to helping your students take ownership of stations and learn independently without disturbing you!
This is a 5 day rotation of 10 different ELA stations using 4 guided reading/station groups. This is ideal for classrooms with at least an hour of station time worked into their daily schedule.
The station board would stay up all year long and you'll need to teach your kids HOW to read the tags and board and clearly label the buckets they go to. I teach kindergarten and every year my kids have it down by the 3rd or 4th week of school. And the best part is once they know how to do it you don't have to show them again! Even if you change up your groupings! Kids love taking ownership of their learning and this is a great way to teach them that responsibility. It's also a great way for them to work independently so you can work with your small group without being disturbed!
5 daily rotation signs (numbered 1-10, each child/partner group visits 2 different stations per day for a total of 10 per week)
4 colored group "tags"- including red/yellow and blue/green.
Small and large station labels:
-working with words station
-super spellers station
-pocket chart station
-write the room station
~I use the small labels on the station buckets and hang the large labels from fishing wire from the ceiling so kids know where that station is/where to take their station bucket. That way if their partner starts stations before them they know where to find them! Each month I have 10 stations that I change out/introduce during the last week of the month for the following month. Computer station stays the same so I don't have to reintroduce that. Writing station, listening station (QR codes with iPad is what I use), new book bins for library station, and pocket chart station I introduce whole group. The other 5 stations we practice in small group the last week of the month during word work time.~
*See directions on preview for HOW to implement station tags. Please message me if you have any questions or need help! Once this school year starts I will post pictures of the system "in action" in my classroom!*
As always PLEASE leave feedback! If you have a problem/concern please message me FIRST so I can get it fixed! Thanks so much!
