This is a great activity to help students work on identifying questions as statistical or non-statistical. This activity is a great way to reinforce 6th grade skills or as a review before beginning 7th grade Statistics content.
To being each student is issued a task card. Students will then stand up in the room, put a hand up and find a partner.
Within their pair the first partner will read their question and the other partner will identify whether the question is statistical of non-statistical. Students will then trade roles and do the same. When each partner has read their card and answered a question – they will trade cards and put their hands up to find another partner!
