This resource is designed to help your students understand and evaluate the Standard Deviation from a set of data. Great for Interactive Notebooks.
Many students not only have a difficult time finding the standard deviation by hand, but also get confused with notation and whether they are finding the sample standard deviation or the population standard deviation.
Included in the Lesson:
✓ Two Tri Fold handouts, one for the population standard deviation and one for sample standard deviation. Each foldable comes with explanations, the formulas with proper notation, and easy to follow directions for the 5 step method, plus a completed example for students to follow, and two more for them to complete. There are different examples and problems in each.
✓ Two graphic organizers to help students work with the complicated calculations.
✓ Illustrated instructions for students to find the standard deviation with a TI Graphing Calculator. There are two handouts, one for the TI 83 plus and one for the TI 84 plus.
✓ An envelope for students to keep the foldable organized in their traditional notebooks or interactive notebooks.
✓ Fully typed step by step solutions.
