Product Description
Rather than just throwing a bunch of random questions at my students for a statistics unit test, I wanted to let them apply their skills to something relevant and interesting. Given the time of year, I decided to focus on college basketball. This activity allows students to choose any two NCAA Division 1 men's basketball teams, collect data about the teams from ESPN (a link is included in the assignment to avoid hours spent searching), and then analyze the data with dot plots, scatter plots, box plots, and corresponding questions. At the end, they will write a paragraph to explain which of the two teams they think would win the tournament, using statistical evidence to justify their opinion.
