This activity includes three parts: a matching activity, a worksheet and an exit slip.
In the matching activity, students are given statistics vocabulary cards and definitions for the words population, sample, sample size, random sample, representative sample, bias, valid, and variability.
Using prior knowledge, clue words, or root words, they match the word to the definition they feel best describe it.
This makes a great partner activity, because it gets students talking about the words and definitions with each other.
Once the matches are made, students can glue them into interactive notebooks.
The worksheet has an example of each word. Students fill in the word that matches the example and explain their reasoning.
The exit slip is a half sheet where students match the definition to the word.
Answer keys are included!
