This is a lesson plan for teaching status within interpersonal communications or for student actors of all ages. It is a step by step approach starting with a warm-up, improv exercise, video (found on youtube), status exercise using scene work, and rubric for teacher and student feedback. My students had great fun with it. The lesson can be broken into two days depending on how many students you have. This lesson can be used in Theatre, Drama, or an Interpersonal Communications Class. It can also be used in conjunction with working on creating characters for any play or scene.
