Stay AFLOAT Memorial Day RAFT Activity Prompts

RAFT activities are highly engaging, and they are the perfect way to move students beyond basic multiple choice questions. With RAFTs, students are taken out of their familiar worldview and forced to think from a new, unique perspective.  RAFTs encourage students to infuse their work with voice and creativity.  They are an easy way to implement higher order thinking skills that support the 4Cs (Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, & Critical Thinking).

A RAFT provides students with predefined parameters that students must take into account prior to responding. RAFT stands for Role, Audience, Format, and Topic. RAFT activities help students consider the angle they will be responding from (role), who they are writing to (audience), how they will respond (format), and the direction they should take their response (topic).
