PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The book Bear Feels Sick, by Karma Wilson, is a great example of how to keep writing on topic! Through this 3-day lesson plan, students will learn how to keep all their sentences on the same topic.
My students knew how to write a topic sentence and three detail sentences but they were having trouble answering the prompt. The topic sentence would be about the prompt but then the details were about other activities. I needed students to learn how to organize their writing so that all sentences were about the same topic.

Included in this packet:
• Structure of my writing lessons
• Scripted lesson plan for the book
• Leveled questions with Bloom’s Taxonomy
• Response strategies
• Staying on Topic: Matching Game
• Letter Writing Pages
• Graphic Organizer
• Final writing paper

Common Core Standards: W.1.3 and W.1.8
