The first Steady Study is intended to help students practice playing certain rhythms using an even and steady beat. They may play and/or say the rhythms while tapping a steady quarter note beat throughout. (A metronome may help keep the quarters steady while students say or play the rhythms.)
Each Steady Study consists of at least 24 measures. Each measure has 4 beats. Rests are not included.
In Steady Study 1 there are 7 measures, disbursed throughout, presenting the featured rhythms in different combinations. The remaining measures are for repeating (or to help prepare for) the featured rhythms.
Math (quarters, halves, and whole note relationships) are represented in this study.
