This activity is simple and requires 1 or 2 mats, but 2 mats are better. It's an activity that is great for younger students, but can easily be a challenge for the older students to test their speed and quickness. There are two teams and the following concepts/skills are covered: Pushing, pulling, loco-motor, muscular strength, muscular endurance, teamwork, sportsmanship, cooperation, speed, quickness, agility, mathematical skills, and listening skills. The one thing great about this activity is that even if you don't have a lot of speed for this activity, you can modify it for those students who aren't as quick as their classmates. Another way to do this activity is team students up against their opponents with about the same speed. It's an activity that sort of like steal the bacon, but more challenging and difficult. Definitely a way to build leg strength and muscular endurance.
