In this project, students research the potential benefits and drawbacks of stem cell research. The differentiate between types of stem cells and their potential uses. The students then write a five paragraph persuasive essay on the legality of stem cell research. They muse back up their argument with facts from their research. A rubric is included for the grading of the essay, as well as an essay breakdown outline to guide students as they write. The National Institute of Health has a page on stem cells which is highly recommended as a resource for research.
