Are you looking for a fun and different way to introduce your students to prefixes, suffixes, and root words? Students will see common stem words (prefixes, suffixes, and roots), and use these words to help understand meaning. Using creative writing activities, students practice with the stem words to see how these words function within a word.

***This is a bundle. It includes Sets A, B, and C.

***The bundle is a year-long curriculum. Each set contains 50 words with tests at the end, so there are 3 final tests in all. It best fits using one set a trimester, but you could adapt for semesters.

    The file contains:

-150 common prefixes, suffixes, and root words

-15 lists, consisting of 10 stems each

-each list has a different creative writing activity to use the stems

-tests covering all words (in sets of 50)

    -answer keys

-instructions on how to best teach stems

-minimal cutting (as they are meant to be placed inside a composition notebook)

    UPDATE as of 4/2/2020

    All of the above plus:

-a booklet with the set of words if you don't want to place it in a comp book

-another post test (so there are now 2)

-pre-made set of flashcards to help students study the words

-PowerPoint going over each set of words

Hope you enjoy and happy teaching!
