A stem-and-leaf plot displays quantitative data. Some examples of quantitative data are height, weight, and age. Included in this lesson are three guided practice activities, one independent practice, a closing activity, and a worksheet to reinforce skills.
The exercises require that the students construct, read, and interpret stem-and-leaf plots. Two of the activities require Internet access to obtain data. There are 21st Century Skills incorporated in the lesson. The skills are collaboration, literacy, problem solving, and critical thinking.
