Students need to be able to read Stem-and-Leaf Plots for their future tests, so what better way to learn than through practicing creating the plots! These problems are made for the students to be able to create through technology or on a poster board the different plots. I had my students work in groups to create the plots then create questions that they might see on the STAAR test. When the plots were completed, the students had to answer all the other students' questions by looking at their plots. This requires higher levels of thinking.
These problems do include decimals to fulfill the requirements for the TEKs 5.9A.
