Reading the science and engineering practices and attempting to implement them into your classroom can be a daunting task. The NGSS has raised the expectations for science classrooms across the country. I've designed this product as one of eight step by step guides to help students and teachers break down each of the the science and engineering practices into manageable steps. This can be used to get students thinking, as a guide for teachers, or as a handout for students. Asking questions and defining problems is a practice called for by several of the standards, but it is a practice that is valuable at the start of any unit or standard asking students to build a model or to plan and conduct an investigation. I think of this practice as the gateway to any engaging science or engineering experience as it has students generate original questions and evaluate their thinking. Please let me know if this is helpful and I'll upload the rest!
