This PowerPoint Presentation teaches the Orton-Gillingham approach in the teaching of steps for syllabication.
There is a total of 18 word examples, with step by step syllabication procedure shown clearly for each word.
It explains what is an open syllable and a closed syllable.
It also clearly delineates the steps for syllabication, by using words to illustrate the 9 syllable patterns - VC/CV, VCC/CV, VC/CCV, VCC/CCV, VC/C-le, V/C-le, V/CV, VC/V and V/V
There are at least 2 word examples for each syllable pattern.
There are 2 versions - EDITABLE and NON-EDITABLE PowerPoint presentations.
The editable version allows you to edit the instructions and words to be syllabicated. The fonts are already embedded, but you may have to download and install them if somehow they do not show correctly on your end. (This is a technical aspect that is beyond my control, I'm afraid. )

Else, the non-editable version works just as well in teaching your students the steps for syllabication! :)
The steps correspond with the Syllable Types and Syllable Patterns Posters (Orton-G) .
You may print the mini posters for each pupil to refer to when getting pupils to practice syllabication.
