Here is a simple, but interesting worksheet puzzle that appraises the critical thinking skill of arranging steps in a process aka sequencing. Students must number the pictures (each has a sentence underneath) in the correct order to show the process of turning a log into lumber.
Upon completion, you could have your students cut the six pictures out and arrange them in order from first to last. You could have them write out the sentences in the correct order, which would render an explanatory paragraph called "Turning Logs into Lumber." The pictures are sure to spark a lot of discussion, and your students will probably enjoy reading the sentences aloud in the correct order. An answer key is included.
