Compare and contrast the themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the sam e author about the same or similar characters (e.g., in books from series).
Compare and contrast the most important points and key details presented in two texts on the same topic.

In an effort to assist classroom teachers and students to practice comparing and contrasting two texts, this poster can be used to guide the student to work independently on this standard. Teachers may want to model the steps provided in the poster and gradually let the students work toward independence as they can refer to the poster as needed. Posters can be minimized when copied and glued in a composition book for the students for easy reference.

Posters can be used in conjunction with any informational texts with similar topics or using a compare and contrast writing structure.
