Product Description
This activity combines music, social studies, and language arts all into one!! Students not only LOVE this lesson, but it helps them understand the horrific nature of apartheid.

You will need a copy of Peter Gabriel's song, entitled "Biko," which you can purchase on ITunes for 99 cents.

What you are downloading: A) The biography of Steve Biko and his mysterious death while in prison during apartheid B) Lyrics to the Peter Gabriel Song and C) 8 questions that get students to think deeply about the metaphors, symbols, and imagery that is used in the song and how they apply to apartheid.

WOW! I was AMAZED with the power this lesson had over my 7th grade students!!! It really helped them to really "FEEL" what apartheid was like. At the same time they were incorporating language arts, social studies, and music.

I highly recommend this lesson!!!!

Also consider purchasing my other lessons/power points on Apartheid! And if you like my work, a positive rating is appreciated!

Thanks & God Bless!
