Sequencing Cards (12 cards): After reading the story, students sequence the cards from beginning to end.
3-Card Story Retell: (for younger students)
6-Card Story Retell: (for older students)
Students cut out the pictures and paste into the boxes in the correct order of the story. Practice retelling the story in their own words using the pictures as aids. Send home worksheet for students to retell story to their parents.
Stick and Stone Rhyming Mat: Cut out pictures on page 10. Have students place pictures in the correct column of rhyming words.
Friendship Rocks! (worksheet): Students write about their favorite friend.
Stick and Stone Vocabulary BINGO (6 mats and Teacher Cards)
Articulation Seesaws (worksheet): Students write their sound or words with their sound on each of the seesaws for practice. Can be sent home as homework.
Secret Friendship Handshake: Students mix up cards and lay in a row. Practice making different combinations of secret handshakes.
Concept Cards (22 cards): Cut apart and mix up. Students practice basic concepts with vocabulary words.
Match the Face To The Feeling!: Cut out face pictures on page 25. Have students match the facial expressions to the possible causes on page 26. For example, which face might show the feeling “scared”, like when seeing a big, black, icky spider?
What’s So Silly?: Have students find the 15 silly things in this picture for expressive language practice using vocabulary and concepts.
Barrier Game Activity: Cut out and laminate 2 sets of pictures and 2 sets of background mat. See directions on worksheet for details on how to set up a barrier game.
“St” Word Find (worksheet): Students identify and color all the pictures of words that begin with the “st” sound blend.
Use Your Imagination (drawing activity): Students use their imagination to draw a picture of what Stick and Stone found in the cave when they were out exploring.
Speech Therapy Update Form: Send home with your student after every session to let parents know you saw their child and what they did in speech therapy that day. Also includes an area for homework.
