This is an activity that covers the concepts of triangle rules (side lengths, angles, side-angle relationship), area of triangles and quadrilaterals (parallelograms and trapezoids), and volume of rectangular prisms. Included are 20 problems for students to answer about these concepts. Print the questions out one to a page and hang around the room or hallway (laminate for re-use). Each student has a student recording page to record their answers on (included). Students can then work individually, with partners, or in small groups to rotate from question to question until all questions have been answered.
For added accountability, give each student/partner set/group a small stack of sticky notes. Have students write their names on the front of the sticky notes and their final answers on the back side (hidden from other students working on the questions) and stick it to the question or the wall around the question. The teacher can then walk around quickly checking student responses and pull small groups in order to reteach or review missed questions.
This activity can be used as a concept review, station/center work, independent practice, fast-finisher, etc.
A zipped file will download after purchase that includes both PDF and Word doc. files of the activity and the student recording page. The student recording page also includes a complete answer key for the 20 questions.
