Effective readers use strategies to understand what they read before, during, and after reading. Effective readers use prior knowledge to think about the topic, make predictions about the probable meaning of the text, and reflect upon the ideas and information in the text. Your students can use these sentence starters to get their thoughts flowing and record them to share. The worksheet can be printed and used as is, or create on sticky notes. Simply print and copy. Then add sticky notes on each of the four squares and place in your printer. When you print your copies, the notes will appear on your sticky notes for students to keep with their books as they read.
