Why sticky notes? This isn’t about a fad or trend in teaching. Sticky notes offer a real benefit to students. Conducting research is a challenging task, and this resource provides your students with the scaffolding they need to be successful.
Each square fits a standard 3”x3” sticky note, where students will add their research notes. The squares have targeted information for them to look for, so they are not just writing down random facts. The sticky notes encourage shorter sentences, as well. When you conference with your students and determine the information they’ve written isn’t accurate or specific enough, simply have them remove it and try again! Once students have completed each sticky note, they can take that information to write an informational essay.
