This is a fun math project for 4th-7th grade students! In this lesson, students learn about the stock market, research a specific company, and analyze stock prices over four consecutive days. They make a poster of their findings and then solve math problems involving these numbers! You'll start the lesson with some general stock market questions to get your class comprehending what a share actually represents and why people buy stocks. There is a tutorial showing students how to research their stock company and compare their current stock share with previous values.
Students will take notes on their stock market data, create a graph of their data, design a unique poster, and evaluate how their data changes over time.
This works really well as an oral report project after students have finished their posters!
Once kids are done with their posters, they will solve some subtraction, addition, and multiplication problems related to their stock share prices.
Please note: The Internet is required for this assignment for the research component.
