This packet is great for any math, social studies, or English class that is learning about the Great Depression or the Stock Market. Students will simulate the stock market by taking on roles of investor and broker.
Students will have the choice to invest in five companies based on their descriptions. If they chose to invest, then they will purchase stock in hopes that the company will do well and their profits will increase. At the end, only two companies make a profit, however, and students will be given reasons why the other three companies failed.
This packet includes all the resources you will need to set up the simulation, and it provides a chart and line graph that the students will complete based on the pricing data. Also, there are several debriefing questions at the end that will facilitate small group or whole class discussion.
